In Fallout Tactics, we’re introduced to the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel, and a new set of power armor along with it, this set featuring horns. They likely found these suits in hidden valley. In New Vegas, we find them in the Hidden Valley bunkers, still primarily clad in T51, but with the odd T45 suit thrown in here and there, with several now in the NCR’s possession, which were captured after the battle for Helios One. Here’s where it starts to get complicated.Īt some point, the Brotherhood of Steel expands. It was a post war armor that was technologically superior to the T51. The Advanced Power Armor Mk I and II were added in fallout 2 as the enclave power armor. It was the only power armor in the game and that was that. And that would, in effect, make it all make sense rather than just being a convenient turn of events to get the Brotherhood in Boston for the game. Here’s my idea for the confusing mess that is Fallout 4’s power armor. Side of the Brotherhood shows up because they want their giant robot back, And depending on who it's leftover, you have the choice of making the DC Brotherhood the boss again, forcing a withdrawal, or annihilating them and it would all be influenced by who you aided with in the main story. And it'd make for a great DLC akin to Broken Steel. So then you'd have Brotherhood DC and Brotherhood Boston as separate political entities birth having claims over the other.Īnd this would explain why a tech forward organization abandoned it's post in DC (Project Purity is immeasurably important, if probably a little boring), isn't using some of its most significant weaponry, and instead just decided 10 years later to run up to Boston to fight synths. ![]() Which is why he might have done it: to legitimize his reign so he won't be seen as a usurper. Right on both points, except that the Brotherhood in the East was a completely separate order from that in the west until Maxson restored the relationship.
